my max is the japanese model, with  upgraded forks and front discs. No V-BOOST, but enough power. I had my max dynotuned and went for consumption rather than power, which is likely why it is so light on fuel.

I rode a 500 thumper and a 600 R in my vulnerable years. And never had a hunger or inclination to ride again. Until 2007 when my son wanted to show me a bike he wanted me to buy him. Very reluctantly I went along. To my surprise I laid my eyes on a v-max for the first time. Standing there next to the one he wanted. I went the next morning (Monday) and bought the v-max. I rescued this bike from being scrapped due to minor front damage. The bike would not start when I found it. I found some bad wiring in the area of the ECM and the signal generator was also faulty. The first ride also made me tear into the diff and found that the pinion extension where the spring goes was snapped off. I repaired the damage and now this Max is going strong. For a while I used a Harley headlight but since found a original. Future plans are a new coat of paint and charge system improvements. Watch this space.

Michelin Mac-Adam 130/80/18 a rear tyre fitted to the front(on the standard Front rim) the direction reversed as used on the front wheel – better looking as more “chunky” and better handling.  

 Front: Have not replaced since new tyre fitted Rear: about 5500 miles 12.5 km/l 11 km/l

depending on the speed.

 Diana Jet kit, KN Air filers (No original air box at all), Stage 7 cams, running permanent V boost (servers for v boost removed), some other work done on the motor as well (pervious owner could not say as he got the bike with the work done) 4 in 1 performance exhaust system,  frame stiffeners, braded brake lines to front callipers, Corbin seat, Belly Pan (made of steel), small fly screen and cruiser pegs – all this work was done when I bought the Max. I made the Sissy bar that is fitted and modified the fuel cap for the Corbin Seat  My Max is named: Eternity
